Hey Dave,
Glad you enjoyed my blog. I dont have any problems with the Boy Scouts in general, it was just an isolated incident.

I was searching for some information on Boy Scouts when I happened upon your website. I'm very sorry that you had this negative experience with this scouting unit. All scouts should be practicing "Leave No Trace" concepts and should respect others and the outdoors, but obviously in this case they did not.

I can assure you that not all Boy Scout units behave badly as this one obviously did. Additionally, what concerns me is that there was no leader on the tail end of the unit during the hike to make sure no scouts were left behind. If there were, I would hope they would have stopped these scouts from putting the branches over the trail, the mud puddles, and mud holes. I hope your next experience with a Boy Scout unit is a positive one.

BTW, you have some great pictures and information here. Thank you for providing this wonderful service. I wish our unit were close enough to enjoy the hiking and camping in this area. Who knows, maybe we will figure out a way to get up there sometime and experience this area on a long weekend or holiday.
